Guest Bio

Anita McBride is an internationally recognized expert on the legacies of America's First Ladies, presidential history, and White House operations. She served for more than two decades in senior White House roles under Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and George W. Bush, including as Chief of Staff to First Lady Laura Bush. Anita is Executive-in-Residence at American University, where she leads the First Ladies Initiative, and serves on the Government Affairs Committee of the America250 Commission. She is the co-author of Remember the First Ladies: The Legacies of America's History-Making Women, U.S. First Ladies: Making History and Leaving Legacies, and the children's book First Ladies Make History.
