Social entrepreneur, investor, and advocate for civic engagement Sylvie Légère is laser-focused on developing innovative solutions that unite people for the common good and advance the next generation of female change-makers.
With a 25-year career spanning multiple sectors, including technology, process, and change management at Fortune 500 companies such as Accenture, JP Morgan Chase, and TD Ameritrade, Sylvie's passion for civic engagement and inclusion was motivated by her own experiences stepping out of her comfort zone to seize opportunities in male-dominated industries. She has channeled this passion into co-founding The Policy Circle and partnering with more than 25 impact-driven companies and organizations that resolve societal issues. As the author of Trust Your Voice, A Roadmap to Focus and Influence, Sylvie aspires to motivate emerging change-makers to elevate their influence and make a positive impact in the lives of others.
An Advocate for Women in Leadership and Policy Education
While building her career in STEM fields, Sylvie recognized a critical gap: she had little knowledge about policymaking. This realization sparked grassroots conversations with like-minded women about civic participation and policy impact. Driven to close the gap between citizens and policymaking, Sylvie co-founded The Policy Circle—equipping women from all backgrounds with the knowledge and networks to shape public policy. What began as curiosity evolved into a national movement that transforms how women engage with government at every level.
Today, The Policy Circle spans 300+ circles across 44 states, transforming how women engage with public policy. Through roundtable discussions, fact-based research, and leadership development, this nonprofit, non-partisan network equips women to drive solutions in their communities.
Advancing Inclusive Economic Opportunity
Sylvie channels her commitment to economic development through strategic board positions and investments. She serves on the investment council of First Women's Bank, the Economic Club of Chicago, and the American Enterprise Institute’s National Council. As a board member of Rise Kit—a platform that helps job seekers from underserved communities build pathways to financial security—she supports expanding economic access. Her work with organizations globally improves economic well-being and quality of life.
Girls Inc. of Chicago has recognized Sylvie as a role model for the next generation of young female leaders.
An Unapologetic Connector and Innovator moving people forward
When Sylvie sees barriers, she builds bridges. She co-founded Foov Fitness to help people with intellectual disabilities stay active through immersive technology. As co-owner of Higher Gear Bike Shops, she didn't just sell bikes—she organized a 100-mile Chicago-to-Milwaukee ride that united riders from all backgrounds around a shared challenge.
This same philosophy guides her board service. Whether supporting veterans through SoldierStrong's rehabilitation technologies, investing in global education through Opportunity Education, or preparing first-time candidates through Candidate Pathways, Sylvie creates pathways where none existed. Each role reflects her belief that solutions scale when you equip people with what they need to succeed.
A mother and an endurance athlete, Sylvie brings momentum to everything she touches—whether on the road, in the boardroom, or across the table from someone discovering their power to lead.
